This is where you will go to find information about the Chattanooga Field Trip. On the day of the trip I will be making updates to this blog as we travel from location to location.
I'll probably have a series of posts here to give you information about the details of the trip.
-Times: Students should be dropped off at the front parking lot by 630am. Please do not park in the parking lot or linger as other cars trying to enter the lot will get backed up. If you are chaperoning please do not park in the front lot, as teachers will need those spaces later. We should arrive back at East Side at approximately 830pm. Again, refer to this blog starting at around 800pm for updates on our location and how close we are to the school. That way you don't have to wait around if we're running late, you can use our location to gauge when you should leave your home to pick up your child.
-Students will need to bring money for dinner. We will eat dinner at the Hamilton Place Mall outside of Chattanooga. Since students will have a choice of where they eat, we did not work the cost of dinner into the overall trip cost. The cost of lunch is covered by the trip donation, so there is no need to bring money for lunch. The menu for lunch has not been determined, however, in years past we have had a "build your own sub sandwich" buffet or a pizza buffet. There will be vegetarian choices, also.
-Electronics: The only electronic device that students may USE on the trip is a camera. Although not needed, cell phones can be brought, but must be turned off for the duration of the trip. All students are responsible for the personal items they bring.
-Other items: Students may bring a book or playing cards. Book bags are not permitted, but small totes - like the Tiger Totes - are permitted.
-Snacks: Snacks will be provided for the trip. These may be chips, pretzels, fruit snacks, etc. Bottled water will also be provided. This is a new development, so please disregard any notices that said you should pack your own snack/water.
-What to wear: It is supposed to be relatively warm on Thursday. Dressing in layers is suggested - pants or shorts, shirt, and some sort of pullover/fleece/sheatshirt. It will be a bit chilly in the morning and in the cave, but will probably be warm the rest of the day.
Stay tuned for more info on the trip!
